When she arrives, she finds out that the brothers have a proposal for her. Is it something that Penny would be interested in or are the brothers going to be denied?

When I downloaded this book, I also downloaded the fourth book in the series.  I actually read them out of order and while the fourth book was able to stand on its own, there was a bit of confusion.

My opinion:

I like the concept of the books but I do not like how the author has split them up into six different books.  I can see offering the first section free to get people interested but then leave the rest as one book and put a price on it.  In looking again, I see that you can buy each “chapter” or you can buy all parts together in one file.

Book 4 – The Cut of Deception

I am not going to write much about this book as it may spoil it all, but essentially, one brother is mad at his other two brothers and uses Penny to get revenge.  Does Penny know and will it work?  You need to read to find out.

My Erotica Journey

When this blog was started, I had plans to write stories.  I still have plans to write a story or two.  But I have decided that stories really are not my strong suit.    I’m not creative enough to come up with ideas but when I do have ideas, getting them written down is very tough.  Its March right now and I have a story I started writing in August that I haven’t touched, just to give you an idea.

I think one of the biggest obstacles to writing fiction is dialogue.  I am not good at writing conversations as the few things I have written either have minimal talking the conversation feels very stiff.  Not to mention, there are a lot of rules when it comes to writing dialogue and the punctuation involved.

I still want to get back to the story I started and finish it but I am not sure what to do with it.  I know what the characters want to do but I’m not sure how all to get them to that place.  I realized a while back that my thoughts of turning out several fiction books will not happen, I will be lucky if I have a few short stories to share or make an anthology out of.

That said, I have a few stories that I can do something with as they are ones a friend wrote and gave me permission to publish.  I have edited them a bit as they required a bit of work but between the two of them, it is not enough words to do anything with.

Another item I have in the pipeline is a non-fiction book in this genre.   Again, nothing is happening with it.  I have the idea, I have some of the text but need to sit down and put it together, expand it a bit and get it published.  I need to do a bit of research but not a lot as I have the majority of the information that I need due to past endeavours.

Toy Review: 7 Function Classic Chic 4 Inch Vibe

Not too long ago I wrote about the demise of one of my favorite toys, the 100 Orgasms vibrator. I purchased the sleek 7 Function Classic Chic 4 Inch Vibe in Black as a replacement. There are a few noticeable differences.

ch of an issue (we always have AAA batteries around for the TV/DVD remotes), I like that the other vibe used AA batteries as we have several rechargeable AA batteries.

Speed – One of my favorite attributes of the now-dead vibe was the adjustable speed. As the name suggests, the new toy has seven functions. These functions are a variety of vibrations and pulses. To change the function the user presses the power switch, located in the cap of the toy. This brings me to the next difference.

Power on/off – The 100 Orgasms vibrator powers on by twisting a knob on the cap. This also controls the speed. To change the variety of functions – or to just turn off the vibrator – one must press the button to cycle through. This means to turn off the toy, the user must press the button up to eight times.

Do I like my new toy? Simply put, yes! (Should that be, “Oh, god, YES!!”?) The variety of functions gives the toy a little more versatility; however, I do wish there was a way to increase the intensity of the vibrations. That is a personal choice, though, as I like my vibes strong. While this toy is great for clit play, it can also be very enjoyable when inserted. Unlike my old toy, this one seems to really hit the G-spot with pleasure-inducing pulses.

I Pee a Little When I Cough

Yep, I said it.  I pee a little when I cough or sneeze.  Sometimes, I am wearing a liner so it’s not a big deal but other times, I’m not and then it’s more of an issue.  But why is this?  It’s actually something that both Lucy and I have mentioned recently so I decided to look into why this might be and what a person can do.  And why not turn it into a post at the same time, as I know we are not the only ones who have this issue.

Starting my search, I find a lot of pregnancy boards or questions from women who have children.  That’s all fine and dandy, it makes more sense when all those muscles have been stretched out  But what about someone like Lucy and I who have not had children and are in our mid 30’s?  I have not asked Lucy about the state of her vagina, I have been told mine is nice and tight, so it’s not like it is just losing liquid wherever it goes.

I headed over to WebMd which is my go to place for any medical questions.  The Internet is way too scary to go looking on just some random website for an answer.   I typed “urinating when coughing” as that sounds very technical and hit enter.

I got 49 results but many did not apply to me.  Many had to do with pregnancy, with being sick, a few had to do with men but I found a few that looked like they may contain some valuable information for me.

What Can You Do:

the first thing is to determine what the problem is .  If it is something occasional, then it likely is something that you  have to live with..  But if it is more, then you should see your doctor.  Everything on the site suggests keeping a bladder journal, essentially, making notes whenever this happens as to what was going on, what the cause may have been, anything that you think may be relevant.  You can take this with you when you see the doctor.  From there, it depends.  The doctor may recommend testing or prescription medicine depending on the symptoms and the resolution.

Another recommendation he may make is to do kegel exercises to strengthen the pelvic muscles which can help.  If you are not sure what muscles this involves, go to the washroom and try to stop the flow of urine halfway through.  Once you know the feeling, do this exercise daily for five minutes.  Do not practice while urinating at this point though!   The great thing about kegels is that you can do them anywhere.  At your desk, doing dishes, watching a boring movie.

Hopefully you will get results and not have issues with peeing while you cough.  And a nice side effect, you will be able to control those muscles which can be beneficial when you are with your lover.  Give him a little squeeze and see how he reacts!

S&M

As you may have noticed in previous posts, the various aspects of BDSM are often interconnected.  This is true with S&M.  For instance, spanking as a form of discipline, done by a Dom to a sub, may be considered S&M play as well.  In many regards, S&M is more of a mental type of play than any other aspect of BDSM.  Sadists derive pleasure from the action – or even just the thoughts – of inflicting pain upon another just as masochists derive pleasure from fantasizing or having pain exacted upon them.

Bride Train Series by Reece Butler (Books 1 & 2)

Barefoot Bride for Three by Reece Butler

Taking place in the 1870s, Beth comes west on the Bride Train to escape a fiancé she has no desire to marry and hoping to open up her own business.  But fate has different plans for her, and she ends up marrying Trace at the demand of the sheriff or else she will end up marrying the town bully.   

Once her and Trace head out of town, she learns that married life is going to be something quite different than what she imagined.  Trace lives in a cabin with his two brothers, and they share everything, and that includes her.

The story goes through the reaction she has when she learns what the reality of her situation is going to be as well as how she handles it.

My opinion:

If you want a book that is steamy but with a good storyline, this is definitely a book to consider reading.

Points to recommend the book:

• The situation is handled well and the men are all about Beth’s pleasure.  Nothing happens that she does not want to happen
• There are secondary characters which are interesting and may have their own story (this is first in a series)

Buy:  Barefoot Bride

A Contract Bride’s Triple Surprise by Reece Butler

Amelia rides the Bride Train west at the request of her sister and having signed a marriage contract to her sister’s brother in law.  Sister Prudence has never had good health and she knows that she will not last long once having her baby, and wants her sister to raise her.   But when Amelia arrives, she finds out that the brother she thinks she is married is not the one she married.  Prudence’s husband has forged the documents so she is married to the elder brother who needs an heir to hold onto the family estate.  

Amelia knows a bit about sex, and her sister has told her that these brothers share, just like their neighbours the Elliot’s (from book one) and if she has any questions to talk to Beth.  Prudence’s letter implores Amelia to also help her husband to quit grieving for her and to continue on with his life.   Amelia struggles with many issues but in discussion with Beth and due to her husband’s devious plans, she accepts what has been requested of her.

My opinion:

This book is not quite as steamy as the first book, but there are still many sex scenes for those that want them.  The storyline is also quite believable.

Points to recommend the book:

• We get to see how Beth and her family are faring for those that got attached to them
• There is discussion about how different races are treated, as Ross is not Scottish like his brother

Buy:  Contract Bride

 

 

Book: Against the Wall by Julie Prestsater

Shelly is a teacher who has just been dumped by her boyfriend and fiancé of 10 years, Chase.   She has two best friends, Melissa and Matt.  It is no secret that Matt has a crush on   her but he is a coworker and she does not want to mix romance and work again, Chase is also a coworker.

Melissa encourages her to start dating again so the two of them go out on the town.    As Shelly is very particular about her beer, she decides to pick guys based on what they are drinking.  She sees a perfect drink in the perfect male hands and is surprised to discover it is her friend Matt.

While Shelly is trying to figure out how she feels about Matt by having a non-relationship with her, Melissa is dumped by her husband.  Christmas comes and Shelly’s brother Tyler comes to town and him and Melissa end up hooking up.

Opinion:

I liked the book but felt that it was quite heavy on the swearing and language.   While I get that many people do talk like that, and they may especially if they teach in high school, it could have been toned down.

I wish I could find a man like Matt.

Light on sex scenes if you are looking for a book with a lot of sex but the book does not seem appropriate for an under 18 audience.

This week is about submission.  The opposite of a Dom, a submissive, or sub, gives control over to another.  This control may or may not be sexual in nature.

As to be expected, there are a variety of Dom/sub relationships.  For example, a sub may take on a role of a pet, of a slave, of a student, or even of a child, with the Dom acting in the contrasting role.  While the sub is passive in the relationship, he or she does have some control.  Before the relationship or the scene begins, the parties involved should agree on experiences ahead of them.  For some, this might include a formal contract.

A sub does have rights, just as any person participating in sexual play has rights.  A great post, called A submissive’s Bill of Rights can be found here.  While these are not necessarily legal rights, they are nonetheless important.  And of course, those rights include saying NO! or using a safe word if the play becomes too intense.
